| @[TranslucentBeauty:31879] I can relate too, damn. I was listening to the song yesterday and I wondered what the lyrics we're exactly. I thought they said something else on some parts, but you can totally feel it's like a failing relationship. And it hurts | |

The way the song is sang, the choice of words, and the sentiment the artist performs with, makes me think this song is about a break up. It makes me think of a guy who is ending things with his partner because this partner is unsure or unclear about what they want (because of someone new or because they both want different things). His partner isn't being honest with themselves or the relationship. He feels like he has no control, no hold on this person; he feels insecure. Things aren't working out, things have changed, they are confused, they are "finding things" that they didn't know. They can't explain things, he can't find the right words to express himself. They are hurting. It's like a seesaw, and as a way of making things better, he decides to "take the final blow". Strong, mixed emotions, he feels sad, but he also feels betrayed or let down. Yet, he tries to understand by "seeing through [your] eyes". He probably felt like he is responsible for the outcome. Responsible for them. Throughout the relationship he felt like he was to blame or that he wasn't enough, and was always on their side. But then he realizes ("a little insight will make things right"), he has some sort of epiphany and is trying to make his partner understand, that this is what's best for both of them. He decides it's better to be on his "own side" for his good, and in a way, his partner's as well. The phrase "darkness turns to light" used in the song is meant both literally and metaphorically. This song is about letting go. |
