Yea its about drugs. But your to a point with them all the reasons you started and bad wishes you wished on someone else are turning on you. My experience the angel i felt i married i wished so many horrible things on her and im at rock bottom looking up seeing she has grown and all the horrible wishes i sent her way are coming back at me because of the addiction i picked up after our divorce. Boy i believed she was the evil one. I got a totally different understanding know im proud to have and i thanks Sullys lyrics. Its given me a understanding why i want to fight my addiction rather then let it completely pull me under in the end. I couldnt of gotten any lower then i did and thats when i listened to his words. I thought man he has fought that bitch and grown. So can I. His lyrics are an inspiration to me. In a time in my life I feel completely alone they are the only thing I feel I can connect with. |

"Been through the skin of a dragon a thousand times". There songs come from life experiences. Its about the struggle with meth maybe. It may just be me but its simple to understand when you've fought the addiction and know what the words chasing the dragon means. Im not saying Sully had that issue but i watched an interview with him and he was asked where does his lyrics come from. His responce was relationships and life experiences. A time in my life i am fighting addiction myself and feel alone with no meaning to live. Wanting desperately to feel a connection his lyrics feel all to real for me. His lyrics have given me an understanding ive never had before. Its given me the want to and strength to battle my own. If there is going to be anything physical on this earth that has given me something to save myself from temptation its his lyrics. Ive picked through every song to find meaning with some type of connection to them and i see how he has grown as an individual. I love you Sully. You the man! |
