@[beags2:31973] yep. Been there done that, i was just a wee lad when i first heard this but it has resonated all through life. Lots of music from this decade really never leaves your heart. Steely Dans, dirty work. EL&P's from the beginning. I like the lyrics a lot, there seems to be a certain ambiguity about love and relationships around this time that really resonated with us X's. |

I read about this. It's not about an affair. It's about a high school relationship where Todd was dumped because the girlfriend's dad didn't like his daughter dating a long hair. She broke up with him without much emotion, which hurt. He wrote the song in a way that he would've done it. A nice guy, a nice decade :) |
