One of my favorites from the Polar Bear LP. Jonny Quinn's intricate drumming as well as Gary's hypnotic guitar work add so much depth to the song. To me, ii sounds like Gary has met and fallen in love with a girl who has a checkered past. She came out an abusive relationship in which her ex-boyfriend died a violent death. But the details around that are sketchy: ("I'm not sure, sure if I believe you. You carry a gun for fun...") Did she kill him in self-defense...or was it murder? |
