Being one of my favorite lyrics, without a meaning published by Senadee & Ben Gold (that I could find), I would have to say my interpretation is... Meaning: Someone planning his or her own suicide (or a sudden expected death, but ultimately suicidal) and wanting to prevent their child from seeing them dead.
