To me the song is about love. If you take the word she in the following line and change it to love. She/love pulls me in, strips me down She/love pulls me in, turns me out She/love pulls me in, strips me down to the ground. The first verse to me is about an every lasting and devoted love. She takes care of the shrine daily and the part of laying down on her back is to be closer to him. (Not sexual) The second verse to me is about new love and taking a chance. Putting your trust in someone else. The line she breaks apart all by herself, again to me is she is willing to become one of two. And the line how easy we come undone is the need to be loved. Hints, will they burn for me. Just my take. |
