Boz Scaggs – Harbor Lights Lyrics 6 years ago
@[jmjkim:30962] Yes I agree. This song I find is so evocative. The long slow intro (starts very softly too) sets the mood. It paints the picture of an eerie harbor dawn and then the story unfolds.Clearly a reflective song of perhaps love lost or regret but a yearning to go back there and relive that moment in time. There is that wondering of 'what may have blossomed", but it seems that perhaps it was curtailed never to be revisited. The musical arrangement obviously plays a big part and the tempo change at the end with the trumpets is powerfully redolent as a close. Full credit to the writers and musical arrangement people also. I had always thought Boz had written it as I had mistakenly understood he was of American/Japanese descent!
