The lyric is antithesis of the personification of the deity. Instead of "I am God" the singer says "I am the man with the dogs." The remainder of the song reminds us of the ridiculousness of anthropomorphizing the deity. Indeed, the man with the dogs is pervasive, mysterious, but largely innocuous beyond offering ridicule. Other interpretations scatological, relating to dog poo, or hot dogs, the man with the dogs being a stadium vendor. |
