Taylor Swift – Afterglow Lyrics 5 years ago
An Afterglow occurs when the sun has long set and yet there is still light in the sky.
The song itself seems quite self-explanatory in which it begins with Taylor lashing out her partner possibly from a miscommunication ("Thought I reason to attack but no"). She doesn't mean to hurt them but she realizes that she has and it's her fault. ("Why'd I have to break what I love so much?")

And so she admits that she's gone to dark places in her head and its caused her to do things that she didn't mean to do. ("I'm the one who burnt us down but it's not what i meant"). She's scared that she'd lose her partner because of what she's done ("I don't wanna lose this with you"). She begs and pleads that once the dust has settled that they can find the light in the dark and "Meet (her) in the afterglow" and move past these hard times.

This is further emphasized in the bridge where she asks her partner to tell her several things. Ultimately she's asking them to ground her when she's drifting away, when she has her doubts even when she's attacking them because deep down she doesn't mean to hurt them.

Taylor Swift – King of My Heart Lyrics 6 years ago
This song seems to be about someone who has been burnt and put off by relationships and the dreams of romance, only to then find someone out of nowhere that means everything to her.

She talks about being okay on her own (I'm better off being alone") after being burned and having "broken bones" from her past relationships. But she meets a guy and he's the one for her.
She's learnt not to believe in fairy tales but to appreciate the smaller, realistic things ("Change my priorities/The taste of your lips in my idea of luxury"). The girl who once believed in Prince charming with all his glamour is gone. Instead of being with boys and their "expensive cars", shes "up on the roof with a schoolgirl crush/drinking beers out of plastic cups".

She believes that this guy is the Endgame. The one who will be there for the long run (Is this the end of all of the endings?") The King of her Heart. Long may he reign.

Taylor Swift – Style Lyrics 6 years ago
The song seems to talk about a relationship that can never really seem to be over despite the desire moving on.

The song seems to begin by talking about what the relationship was like. "Midnight" and with "no headlights" giving that idea that while they're together, they have no idea where they're going. The lines "Long drive, could end in burning things or paradise" can be thought of as a call back to the previous song, Blank Space with the line "So it's gonna be forever or it's gonna go down in flames". Both lyrics suggests that these types of relationships are all or nothing. There is no middle ground.

She knows that this bad for her ("I should just tell you leave cause know exactly where it exactly where it leads") but she can't help herself and relapses into him. (But I watch it go round and round each time")

The Chorus plays on classic fashion tropes that are timeless and never get old. The "James Dean" look and the "Red Lip Classic" are things that will always been around and not something to get bored of easily. In comparing the relationship to this, she's saying that things she'll always come back to this relationship because it never goes out of style.

The second verse talks about the aftermath of breaking up,
"The lights are off" as he "takes off his coat" shows that there's still some physical attraction between to the two. They talk about their time apart ("I've heard that you've been out and about with some other girl" ) and while he admits he's in the wrong ("He says what you heard is true") , she also confesses to doing the same thing ("I said I've been there too a few times"). Despite this however, they still come back together because they can't stop thinking about each other.

The bridge is a simple "Just take me home" which implies that she doesn't want to feel this way anymore. She just wants to go home and for this "long drive" to end. She's tired and wants to move on but she can't help herself when he comes into her life. They're both in a cycle of lust, desire and longing that they keep coming back to.
To her, he is toxic but timeless.
