It's clearly a personal lyrics. I don't think there's much to say. It's his shyness which doesn't let the character to have a social bond with someone he perhaps like a lot. But the character doesn't want to go out. He aspire something more intimal. That makes him even more loneliness (It's so recurrent in Morrissey's lyrics). He complains for being so shy, what doesn't take him anywhere, or allows him to love someone. Still he wanna be loved because all the humans need, no matter if he/she doesn't really feel the need How soon is now and See I've already waited too long And all my hope is gone incicates us that he's in love with someone who doesn't understand his need for a intimal relationship, while the other person, maybe, is more insterested in going out. |
