| @[Takeusaway:50589] pretty sure the song is about escaping conflict in the world. The song was released in 1968 the same year MLK and RFK were killed. That decade had seen the killings of Medgar Evers, JFK, Malcolm X, amongst others. There were greater conflict happening domestically the 60s had more going on. It’s a really good song, I never thought of aversion to violence as destruction as “leftist protest” | |
