The verses, to me, means that the singer's feelings for the person she's singing this to has changed and doesn't love them in a romantic way anymore. "For you the future's easy so don't weep, for me it's getting steep" - depression, perhaps "Steeper and in the dark that's where I want to be. Deeper, I'm going somewhere you won't want to see" - these words make me think that the composer is going into a deep depression and doesn't want the other person to see what that's like. |
