Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody Lyrics 6 years ago
The song starts with the person, probably a street kid, realizing what he just did:
"Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?"
He has that poor-but-proud, boastful general attitude:
"I'm just a poor boy, I need no sympathy", "Anyway the wind blows, doesn't really matter to me".

"But now I've gone and thrown it all away", "I don't wanna die", "my time has come"
At the time of writing Britain no longer had a death penalty for murder, but before that, I believe, the punishment was death by hanging (thus, "fandango", i.e. the grim fandango).

"Goodbye, everybody, I've got to go": getting arrested, turning himself in or trying to flee. "Gotta leave you all behind and face the truth": fleeing not an option.

The operatic section is the trial. The Brits have those capes and wigs, making trials look somewhat like an opera with the nobles, judge, prosecution and defense, talking over one's head in a posh manner. "Spare him his life from this monstrosity" again referring to the death penalty.

After the trial he's lashing out in anger and then the acceptance.

@[askewchan:29742] Fandango probably refers to "grim fandango", which is a hanged person twitching while dying.
