Temple of the Dog – Hunger Strike Lyrics 6 years ago
My interpretation of this song is alot like these ones. #1 they dont mind taking from those who over indulge. #2 they do not want to take more than there share thus making them the same as the people they just took from. #3 and most importantly, that does not satisfy them. "I'm going hungry" meaning greed and desire for what you do not have but is obtainable overtakes them and in my opinion can easily take us all. Its about pain and denial in the things we truly want but do not need. Yet there is still a hunger to obtain what we do not need but greedily want.

@[franklintitan:29664]. Obviously you arent thinking about the song. I love the song and in this modern age of everyone conforming it makes total sense.

Imagine Dragons – Demons Lyrics 6 years ago
In my opinion the girl in the song is actually Mother Nature. He knows that Earth is inevitably being broken and that he as one man can't make it stop while in the end he gets hope from looking at the sun keep rising and the beautiful landscape so he asks how to help keep the Earth healthy and have less sin take place.

Simon and Garfunkel – The Sound of Silence Lyrics 6 years ago
This song is as relevant today as it was when it was written. The fact that I'm writing this in a forum is probably not what Simon wanted us to do with it as I'm staring at my neon God right now. A neon God which is in our pocket. A world where silence is hard to come by. I sleep with a fan for noise. Their is so many noises not only in the world but in our minds. Directing us to buy buy buy. Or sell sell sell. Or to pro create. Or to settle down. Or to become a star and seek fortune. But what caused us to believe we needed to have these thoughts? The thought that we needed anything of material to be happy? Well, the "neon Gods" did. Or people behind marketing campaigns. The movies of people getting what they search for. The representation by the media that this world lives and breathes off of. People hear and do not truly listen. But in the brain we consciously only remember fragments and we distort any moral relevance that the society actually does impose on us. We try our hardest to impress but how does that really Gove us happiness? It doesn't and can't. For happiness can't be bought or sold. We don't need prophets to tell us this yet they were brought here in case we did. We can even see that we are happy because we are too busy focusing on the grass a hill over from us. Happiness is in our spirits but we are so out of tune to our own self that we think we need materialistic things and/or others to see or acknowledge we are well off to be happy.

Bastille – Pompeii Lyrics 6 years ago
This song is about the underlying fact that we as humans make mistakes and what the song is trying to say is are we going to learn from them or are we going to just "close our eyes" and be parallel to earthquakes and tornados (or what have you) things we can not change. The song is about messing up but learning from those mistakes and seeing your "sins" for what they are. He is also saying how am I going to be an optimist because our own free will and stubbornness sometimes gets our minds narrow and won't allow us to correct ourselves. I also believe in the way this song is formed it is also suggesting a cycle of committing the same sins.
