Dark song about living in a hopeless situation, and suffering from loss and pain for far too long, he caves in to societal pressure to survive, and in the end takes his own life.
Sometimes life doesn't have a happy ending, and you have to either figure it out, and make it better, or end it before the darkness swallows you whole and you hurt others with your pain.

Pretty easy to see that it is an Anti War song. On a deeper level than just the wars we fight with our government's at the helm, it talks of the war in our nature to wage it, and of the struggle to be better. It is beautiful, and I hope it hits home for all who hear it. |
