| I hear this song as a spiritual rallying cry. It's calling for everyone to wake up from their self-imposed bonds and to a broader interpretation of God and life. I hear the chorus as a lamentation of the loss of God in one's life due to 'ambition' and similar things that can cloud one's perception. The use of the word 'my' in the chorus instead of 'like' is interesting and one of the reasons why I reject the anti-religion interpretation. Rather, I think it's anti-zealot. | |
