The Alan Parsons Project – Damned If I Do Lyrics 6 years ago
This song was big about the time I was in college in the early 80’s. When I first met my first love, it was at a college dance. The music was quite loud and we couldn’t hear each other talk so we pulled out our college Id’s and one look at mine I thought he about had a stroke. Turns out his sister was married to my uncle. Apparently we met as children though I didn’t remember it. His mother for some reason didn’t approve of our connection and me not being Catholic didn’t help my cause. During our school winter break, he was on my mind as I was attracted to him but felt we were doomed, as it seemed we were “damned if we got together and damned if we didn’t try”. We had a rocky seven month long relationship mostly due to his unapproving mother though his father was ok with it.

The Alan Parsons Project – Don't Let It Show Lyrics 6 years ago
I have always liked this song way back to my college days in the early 80’s. After my first love broke up with me, I kinda saw this song as something he would see as his theme song, in denial over his feelings for me and how I wouldn’t be there any longer since he broke up with me and that he would go on living without me and pretending it doesn’t bother him and saying he doesn’t care. A few years later we would run into each other again at a party and I was clearly still pinning for him and he had regrets. Another year or two after that he really expressed his regrets and tried to restart things with me but by that time I was finally over him and my first marriage was in trouble but not because of him. I ended up marrying a great guy, a friend of his of all things and he ended up marrying someone too.
