Though this song apparently does not appear on a Who album, my opinion is it was meant for Tommy or maybe even Quadrophenia. It's got that whole rock-opera vibe with dramatic chord changes and 3-part harmonies. Phew. |

At first I'm thinking this is about a field of poppy flowers, in the sense that poppies can be made into all sorts of substances. But then the rest of the song sort of goes on with its initial nature theme. As heavy as this song is, could it only be about the process of life coming anew? That's what it seems to be.
