@[cyanide2060:29392] - You're right, they are talented. Show me how defenseless you really are - is a challenge not asking the woman to "open up". Cats look defenseless, don't they, until they come at you pissed off with claws out & women were once jokingly referred to as "kittens" because how a seemingly "defenseless" woman isn't so defenseless pissed off. Have you never heard the saying there's nothing worst than a scorned woman? This "defenseless" comment is straight out sarcasm. Satisfied & empty inside - is *not* a man. That is the woman. The entire sequence from there to dead & dry basically implies it is an arranged marriage that the woman disagrees with & takes satisfaction, even pleasure, in denying her husband the intimacy (empty) of a loving relationship. That's pretty obvious with the next lines - if you find your family, don't you cry, in this land of make believe dead & dry - so the husband/wife are pretending to be a happy family (in this land of make believe) and that possibly a) something happened to her family, b) her family had no say in this marriage arrangement either, and that there is little hope of anything improving between them (it takes work, hard work, for anything to grow on land that's dead & dry). This - Your so cold, but you feel alive. Lay your hand on me on last time - is probably only the summary you got right. The song isn't about craving someone who is unable it's about infidelity, haven't you ever watched the music video? |
