I think the song is about having desires that are unattainable is wasting your life away, therefore in the end all you have is shit, nix, nein, nada, so don't waste your time. When the songs goes dark, there's uplifting notes to bring you out of the funk. Just my two cents |

As with all AIC songs I believe Jerry writes on topics that affects him and the others personally, then leaves enough space for you to come up with your own conclusion or meaning. AiC loves their fans and supporters, of that I have no doubt.
