Sir Sly – Gold Lyrics 7 years ago
GOLD
This was one of the first songs that truly caught my attention from this band, Sir Sly. I've since explored their music to find relatable context in most of the lyrics of their songs with musical talent that reminds me of Nirvana in the early 90's.

After seeing them live in concert at a venue that housed only 100-200 people, I'm a HUGE fan of this band. Commentary by the lead singer, Landon Jacobs, during the concert revealed that their second album, "Don't You Worry Honey", and songs from the first album, "You Haunt Me", were inspired by his mother's death from brain cancer as well as divorcing his recent bride after a short marriage.
Toiling with depression and suicidal thoughts, Jacobs turned away from drug habit to the studio where fellow musicians, Hayden Coplen and Jason Suwito paired his emotional turmoil into their Sophomore album released in the summer of 2017.

Their catchy beats coupled with creative chorus and emotional strength in their lyrics has me hooked on their sound.
