Maybe I'm overthinking it but nevermind, here's my theory: I think it's a metaphor of trying to escape a corrupted mind. There's no killer or something, the enemy actually lives inside his own head. The voices "say some awful things ways to make you fade away", which can lead us to the fact, that the protagonist has a personality disorder, probably schizophrenia. The voices start to make his real personality fade away. The next line confirms, that he's alone and when he's all by hinself the voices are growing stronger. He wants to take back control before the voices drive him into doing something what would make him feel uncomfortable. He can't make the voices go away so he just tries to escape his mind instead. The next verse tells us, that he commited suicide with his "next weapon" which means that he hang himself and the voices are dying with him but as the bridge says he dosen't die and he breaks himself over and over trying to die but the voices don't let him do that (?) Ye (and sorry for my english) |
