I think the singer is going through some personal things, possibly depression or some other anxiety. When she says "There's a fallen shore, I know and I'm thinking of home tonight", I think she means she recognizes that she is broken and although she has left, she is thinking of him. When she says "There's a spark in our eyes", she knows they still have something worth fighting for. "But I'm letting you down tonight" could simply mean she is contemplating suicide and also just the fact she left. She's hoping he'll reach out and tell her he still wants her and he wants her to want him too when she says "And so you'll say "I do, I do want you. Want me too." The stance that says "You're just in time, I was thinking of lines for you" is is her fantasy that he has reached out before she has done something drastic since she was thinking of what she was going to say in her suicide letter to him. "I was singing words, And now I can't stop, Now I can't stop" could be about her suicidal thoughts escalating. The final stance "You're just in time to save a life" is her hope that he reaches out to save her before her dark thoughts take over and she ends her life. |
