@[vivalamikayla:28930] I think you are basically right. The person singing is deeply in love, but the other person 'cuts him down'. She shows him that he is too haughty and shouldn't feel superior to her. But she also tries to get him on the right track again. There are many points of trouble in their relationship, but he is sure to have found the person he belongs to. Chris Martin wrote this song for Gwyneth Paltrow. when they were still married. At this point he is still convinced their relationship will endure, because his love is so deep. As it turned out, she 5 years later wanted divorce, to which he finally had to agree. The song is a foreshadowing of the fact that though she belongs to him, their love will be finally 'swallowed in the sea'. |

I think almost everybody can relate to this song and its lyrics, because most of us at least once have done harm to a friend or a loved one and feel sorry about it. We are entangled in a spider's net and don't know how to get out and fix things. I know what I am talking about.. For coldplay this song has a special meaning. Chris wrote it remembering how absolutely stupid he had been when in the early days of their career he had once kicked Will out of the band thinking his drumming was not good enough. He soon realized his error and the group was lucky that Will returned after Chris had apologized. In an interview he said that the song 'Trouble' had much to do with the wrong he had done to Will. |
