To me this song is about the man who we all are at times. When life seems to kick us while we are down and dark thoughts of vengeance fill our minds even though we know, we are wrong. During those times we long for a mother figure to enlighten us to the situation and show us some warmth and to unclench our fists.\n The song reminds of a quote by Carl Jung who said “ No tree can grow to heaven unless it’s roots reach down to hell” Everyone has the capacity to be Evil and it does us good to realise this now and then. \nAnother great song from The Who |

To me this song is about how civilisation always seems so good in the beginning and how we all long to be living in a tight knit tribe/community at one with nature but as more and more people join, Each looking for the good life, people change it bit by bit until it’s no longer what it was and your suddenly no one to anyone, in a vast city longing to start a new community away from the big lights of the city in the woods. Thus the cycle continues. Probably nothing to do with that but it’s how it resonates with me. Great song regardless. |

Just a simple song about how you should never treat people like there are worth less than you and that’s always gonna be someone bigger and better than you and that’s when people slip up( on God’s banana skin) when they think that there isn’t.
Great song from rea |
