Isn't it 'Beyond all the good is the terror'. I'm sure everyone is right that this about suicide or maybe just depression, but it sure seems like it could be about sin and sin's relationship to the eternal. The chorus really implies such to me at least. It also seems like it could be political, especially in "An abyss that laughs at creation, A circus complete with all fools, Foundations that lasted the ages, Then ripped apart at their roots." Those lines could certainly be interpreted as discussing the degradation of civilization institutions. |

| Fuel – Hemorrhage (In My Hands) Lyrics | 1 year ago |

From genius.com: Songwriter Carl Bell spoke candidly about the meaning behind this song on VH1 Storytellers: When I was younger, my grandmother got cancer. By the time they found it, it was much too late. Instead of sitting in some hospital, she wanted to go home and be home. And my mother and my aunts and their husbands went to sit with her at home. A few months passed, and the cancer had spread, it had eaten up most of her body and all of her hope, and it was a bad time. One particular day was a really bad day for her. My mother was sitting with her that evening, and she turned to my mom, and said, ‘How do you die?’ It crushed my mom, and it’s still crushing me. |

| Björk – Army of Me Lyrics | 1 year ago |
| I wish I could update the reply that it is about her lazy ass brother - though there isn't any proof of that - the best comment is about it being a relative. Having young children, I thought there was a chance it was about her children since I know she had young children around this time. | |
| Edwyn Collins – A Girl Like You Lyrics | 1 year ago |
| So, apparently the thought that it is from some 60s artist isn't so super crazy - it does (according to wikipedia) sample the drum track of Len Barry's 1-2-3 from 1965. | |
| Skee-Lo – I Wish Lyrics | 1 year ago |
| Ha, just looked at the lyrics - for like 30 years I always thought it was "And a 6 4 Father". | |

Since no one else did this - would have preferred someone who speaks iclandic - apparently the icelandic is: "eg og hann vio segjum eg og hann finnum til" and this translates to "Me and him will tell you Me and him find" |

Since noone added the latin translations: "Attollite portas, principes, vestras" -> "Lift up your gates, princes". "Et elevamini, portae aeternales" -> "And be lifted up, eternal gates". "Et introibit Rex Gloriae" -> "And the King of Glory will enter". "Qius est iste Rex Glorie?" -> "Who is this King of Glory?". ... "Procedamus in pace" -> "Let us proceed in peace". "In nomine Christi, Amen" -> "In the name of Christ, Amen" |

| Siouxsie and the Banshees – Cry Lyrics | 2 years ago |
| Probably the worst Banshees song. | |
| Joy Division – Heart and Soul Lyrics | 4 years ago |
| I'm sure the suicide or broken marriage theories are correct, but I like to think the song has something to do with the decadent decay of civilization. | |
| Björk – Crystalline Lyrics | 6 years ago |
| Bjork explained the song's meaning to NME: "It's about a connection between two people, that's stagnated, crystallized. You wanna bring out the pick-axe." | |
| Hooverphonic – Barabas Lyrics | 7 years ago |
| I don't know, but as Barrabas was released instead of Jesus, and Barrabas is presumed to be a revolutionary, this song might be about some sort of revolutionary feeling or maybe just any inflamed feeling about something you wish you could change. Maybe you think you could prevent said thing if you could go back in time. | |
