I really think it’s about how certain people gravitate towards each other. This song is one of those people welcoming one and all go tell them about their ocean. To tell them their life story or whatever they need to get off of their chest or what have you. I think this song is about an extreme Empath. I think this is about a possible thought of suicide at the edge of the Grand Canyon. And I’m sure it’s a place where Maynard finds solace as is, but I think it’s an outreach to people who struggle with this. I think it’s a “take a look at where you are and let Mother Nature do the talking for you and listen to her words” kind of thing, and saying it’s okay. |

I think it’s about a washed up pimp who’s trying to figure out what happened. All his girls left him, the popo is closin in, HES like a dog without a bone, but he still thinks he can bring his honey back home, therefore he ain’t like the rest.

My idea is either new age “rappers” and/or drug use. It makes me think of “The Package” with the no time for chit chat reference. And suck it up buttercup. And how places have “safe zones” for addicts, hence the “no time to coddle you” part comes in. Just an idea! |

This song has a huge Tool feel to it and I love it.
I think it has to do with narcissism in some way. I think its more of someone trying to search for empathy in someone else (possibly politicians). But it just seems that someone looking at someone else and wanting them to be one way, and turning out to be selfish and uncaring. |

I honestly think this elephant we're eating is about depression or anxiety or some other mental illness that people have a hard time getting through. This album is about today's issues and mental illness is one of the elephants in the room that we don't particularly want to address or talk about. Each song in this album is just another elephant in the room we don't want to see as a society.
