The narrator likes the quiet after a loud, hot, crazy passionate relationship. He's ok with being by himself..Because the girl was so hi energy, on occasion she got an attitude. And anybody who has been in this type of relationship can tell you...you fight. Passionately. It's crazy, but it's one of the things that attracts you to the girl, until you just cant take it anymore. Good with the bad, I suppose. Because he has no one, he falls asleep on the couch a lot. He' beating off....a lot. When you live with someone for a while, you sometimes forget there're gone and expect to see them coming around the corner. Or down the hall. The song is written from a male perspective. Fannie is a guy. Basically, he ran into one of his old girlfriends who is not doing so well, relative to their old crew. Barry is Bill Gates/Steve Jobs/the Oracle guy, or one of their lieutenants. In real life, refers to the fact that Chevy Chase was part of their group (shows and films). The Bunsen Prize is the Nobel Prize. One of their crew was on a team that won it in some technical field. Offers to buy her dinner, give her a ride on the old magic stick. She declines. |
