I believe this song is about shedding our egos. "When the time is right and the night is bright, We will see the things we've come to find, I've been searching for just a little more, Though the days girl just slip away, And the red sunset that we just met, I can see forever, Come and see the mind's eye, We can find it if we try, Come and see the mind's eye, Transfixed upon the why, Come and see the mind's eye, We can find it if we try," 1st verse with the chorus is him literally shedding his ego, when the time is right what he has been trying to achieve what seemed for days slipping away but the red sunset not sure if you guys know but working on ships a red sunset set means calm winds and seas are coming meaning he has found what he was looking for shredded his ego and now he can see forever... the chorus is all about opening your third eye your minds eye you just have to try. "Well they say it's right if it feels alright, When your love burn up in the mire, So I burnt a fire for a lost desire, See it burning higher," 2nd verse to me is how we feed our egos and how when we feed the ego it just burns higher, They say meaning other egos who think they are happy, if it feels alright then it's right so keep feeding your ego, but then everything your ego loves keeps getting burned up in the more so meaning everything your ego feeds on eventually has no use to you aka possessions and wants, so this person keeps feeding his ego, he burns another fire for some other desire and his ego burns higher... |

I think it's a song about relationships in General, as in how most guys say all women are the same, except for that one that really did blow your mind. "What'd you see girl on the love train I said, what did you see girl on the love train now Said, I gotta get back girl on the love train, oh Said, I gotta get back girl on the love train, oh" He is asking a girl he knew who is she seeing now on her love train, then says he has the get back on her love train. "What'd you see girl on the love train? Said different luck is with no name Tellin' me all things are the same I said I gotta get back girl on the love train" Again asking her what is in her love train, trying to get lucky with some no names meaning nothing special, she is telling him all are the same, then he says well let me back on the love train. |
