I think it's about reincarnation. She has lost someone, and she's holding on to the hope that they will be together again in another life, while grieving tremendously because, for now, that person is beyond her grasp. Side note- The writer of this song has definitely lost someone close to her in real life. That line, "I saw you leaving, I saw the light go", you couldn't write that if you hadn't lived it, if you didn't knowwhat that's like. The way it's delivered sounds like crying, and it's one of the few songs that can make me cry. Beautiful. |
