| First time I heard this song was back in 2015. I didn't like it then. Today it appeared on my YT recommendation list, live from BBC version. I am obsessed with this song ever since. I am so sorry I didn't give this song a chance before. Anyway, I am not a native English speaker, maybe true meaning of the song is lost on me, but to me, personally, this song is like - as a mind has a mind on it's own, it's in conflict with himself. A narrator here almost managed to cure his anxiety, but, unsurprisingly, it still appears and messes with his life. He can't control it, it's still part of him, it won't let go of him that easily, as if they are"friends" and separating would have been painful. Also, at one point, he is talking to another person, pleading for help. Then, he gets pissed off. No matter how much he tries, he can't free himself. So, he turns a little violent, he hates himself, possibly even self harm. Yet, he still wishes he could finaly be free. | |
