Having studied this for a while I believe that Sea Of Madness is about the point at which the soul separates from the body (point of physical death) after an accident (eg Car or Motorbike) and the spirit is surveying what just happened. Out in the street somebody’s crying (Shock and mourning of the witnesses and even possibly family) Out in the night the fires burn (The burning wreckage) Reached the point of no return (Just before going into the light) My eyes they see but they can’t believe (“What the hell just happened to me!!!”) My heart is heavy as I turn my back and leave (“Damn it! I’m not ready! ... I don’t want to linger here”) Etc... this is the best I have I’m afraid |
