Disney – I've Got No Strings (Pinocchio) Lyrics 7 years ago
I think this is a very lonely song. In the context of the movie Age of Ultron in which verses 1 and 3 are used, I believe the word "strings" has a dual meaning: a puppeteer's strings (something used to manipulate someone), and connections to other people such as love or friendship. Therefore, when the song says "I've got no strings" and "I'm not tied up to anyone", it means that this person believes they can't be manipulated with threats towards the people they care about because they don't care about anyone. Concerning the other verses, I think, because of the manically happy tone of the song and how it seems to make less and less sense towards the end, that this person is delusional/ paranoid about having "strings", likely due to past trauma of being used.
In verses 4-6, the song refers to an unspecified "you". Perhaps this means the person does actually care for someone and is so paranoid of them being used by someone else as a way to manipulate them that they insist that they have no connections/ feelings towards anyone.

Whoops that was long! Anyways these are just my thoughts. Scawt's interpretation down below seems a little extreme to me and doesn't seem to merit serious consideration, although the tone of it fits with my theory that the narrator is delusional.
