| The Kinks – Sitting In My Hotel Lyrics | 7 years ago |
| I think this song is about becoming famous and how people think that fame changes all aspects of your life even the way you used to think. As if with fame, the silly things you used to do and the memories of unimportant nonsense are erased because you are now an "important" person. however this song talks about how he is still mentally connected with the people and ways of his old life and how his new rich self isn't who he really is but is someone he would have made fun of with his old friends. the sad part about this song is that he is doomed to isolation by hanging on to his old life which is ultimately unachievable as his new lifestyle has created a social barrier and his old friends have no doubt moved on, leaving him living through his past self. (no idea if this is correct, it's merely what I got from the song) | |
