| The Who – Sister Disco Lyrics

So the whole thing with The Who is they represent rock. See Long Live Rock and Sister Disco. This song simply says goodbye to rock's sister, disco. And I think it's intentionally less than complimentary. |

@[Reaverbot:52711] Yes. War in general is a bad thing. A bad state for a human to be in. Up is down, morality and immorality mean nothing. To survive you must kill. So whenever people try to break down whether this thing could've been handled better or this other thing is a war crime, it's very difficult for me. I've never been in war. But you're overlooking a million first degree murders just to get there. And there are exceptions. Killing civilians for example. Torture. I can condemn them. But many things, I just don't know. Yeah they're bad. War is badness. But sometimes it needs to be done. Other times it's based on WMDs that never existed but nevermind that now. Lol |

That second verse is so brutal. As Nathan Explosion would say, it's totally metal. But it's the third verse that has scratching my head. Taking you down, rip you apart, you'll burn at the stake, so, that all means kill you right? In any context I can imagine that has anything to do with the military, they'd simply ice you, forget you and move on. But I admit I'm not a military expert. Or a military novice. |

| Hank Williams – I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry Lyrics
| 1 year ago

It's pretty simple. As Hank himself says, it's about a dude who's lonesome. Really lonesome. But one thing is unclear to me. Words sometimes have multiple definitions. Lonesome means lonely of course. But there's an archaic usage which basically equates to uh... horney. I've read about people in the 1930s using the word to mean that. Which kind of lonesome is our dear subject? Both could just as easily make one cry. |

| Simon and Garfunkel – The Sound of Silence Lyrics

I'm not saying this is what Simon and Garfunkel had in mind but this song means something to me. So he's walking around and when his eyes are stabbed with the flash of the neon light, a vision was planted in his brain. He has this vision of all these songs, written by some talented songwriters, 10,000 people maybe more, but these songs, voices never share them. No one ever gets to hear them and sing along. Because, silence, like a cancer grows. This song is telling me to get my songs heard and not to accept the silence. No one dare disturb the sounds of silence. He wants me to hear him. Hear his words so he might reach me. But his words like silent raindrops fall and echo in the wells of silence. With that in mind I'm planning on performing my songs live. Recording them. This song changed my life. |

Well, the first thing that jumps out at me is the juxtaposition of the divine and the profane. The religious themes are obvious enough. I can't say I know for sure what they had in mind but it seems safe to assume they're not exactly fond of religion. |

| Ministry – TV II Lyrics

I seriously think they just invited in some homeless guy with .... er, I'll just say issues, and gave him a microphone. Maybe someone with a sign that says "The end is nigh". I'm kidding but the lyrics are unsettling. They remind me of instability. If it was meant to be about that, I don't know. The "voices in my head" line seems to go along with that idea. "Connect the goddam dots" seems like a plea to put the pieces together and see the underlying truth and that's a symptom of some mental health conditions.
Edit: Just a small moment that I just had to point out. If you listen closely, just before the drummer plays the blast beat of all blast beats, you can hear 4 taps of a drumstick on drumstick. A count in. Maybe that's only funny to musicians. But they didn't really need a count in there. It's just funny at that speed. I can't explain why but it is. |
