Dream Theater – Disappear Lyrics 7 years ago
@[godscoward:27284] I found a conversation where James LaBrie himself described what is this song about and how he got an idea to write such lyrics. If it's surely him I don't know. There's no guarantee but I feel it starting to take over me ;)

As viewed on the Elektra "in studio" preview clips, Disappear was originally known as Move On.

Dream Theater – Disappear Lyrics 7 years ago
@[godscoward:27266] However, there is these verses:
"Turn, I'll turn this slowly round"
"Burn, burn to feel alive again"
and
"The best that I can without you here beside me"
"Let him come and take you home".

So I think the song is about a man who was insane and he thought murder would be the best solution ever. He believed in afterlife and in meeting her girl (or wife) again. He tied her up under a blue sky and set the fire as he was clear about what is this world/universe like and what was going to happen after death.
"I'll never forget
As you lay there and watched me
Accepting the end
I knew you were scared"
Well, thank you, now I am scared a little bit. Probably the scariest lyrics in DT's history. James LaBrie wrote also Vacant, short but so sad song full of hopelessness.
James, I want to understand you more.
