Pink Floyd – Ibiza Bar Lyrics 7 years ago
@[agoxide:27566] That's the point. The Nile Song is almost like the younger version of Ibiza Bar. If you listen the chords and even the sounding is more mellow, it feels as if time has gone by. The whole connection to those two songs on this album is really beautiful.
You can listen to it in order and feel the sense of direction change, the sense of emotion and tension in perspective. Cymbaline is probably my second fav to this one just because it's so mellow but it's not a drag, it's swift and soft.

@[AnOpinion420:27287] I'd say actually my interp is spot on.
The whole song just screams sexual frustration.

Nirvana – Lounge Act Lyrics 7 years ago
This song I believe is about a love triangle yes, but it's the emotional temper of the whole situation. There's an animosity and at the same time an understanding to the general acceptance of what people want. This is Kurt's duality speaking. He's getting angrier as the song goes on because inside he's constantly introspecting on the nature of their relationship with this alleged gf and his friend banging her at the same time. This is what I feel from the lyrics and the song itself. The lyrics are self explanatory.

Black Sabbath – Spiral Architect Lyrics 7 years ago
I've listened to this song back when I was younger but it didn't mean anything to me at least lyrically wise. It was always a nice sounding song but currently I could say I possibly understand the meaning and direct interpretation.

Ozzy talks allot about reality and religion- the themes of fantasy vs reality and religion/spirituality vs pragmatism. The first stanza I believe is about the whole trope of religion itself through a poetic alegory for finding peace in "god" and the whole indoctrinatory system he viewed them to be. The sorcerers of maddness are most likely the priests and followers wasting (everyones) time with their bullshit.
The rest of the first stanza deals in the duality of self delusion vs self enlightenment and how even the strongest people of faith end up doused by their own self doubt.

The song from here only gets more complex in theme and respect to it's overall nature the song is actually quite deep.
In the chorus when he says "you know that I should"- It's a huge homage to acid culture in my opinion. The feeling that you shouldn't be sad is an odd thing to explain here, it's a sense of emotion that isn't self forced but actually more like an epiffiany.
Not the fact of just "knowing you should be happy" but the idealism behind it. The reflection upon the world-his world- our world is a universal emotional concept best felt on acid. You'd understand my reasoning once you've felt it, as it's not a "normally brought on feeling". Take the words at face value but know there's a deep diatribe of perspective and conceptualization in that chorus line.

Second stanza I believe is about in a nutshell the progress of man through the middle ages up to now. Superstitious centuries is self explanatory, the whole stanza is about grandoise perspective of man itself and like an analysis of the baser minds experience. The silver ships on plasmic oceans I don't believe mean anything, could be just trippy wordplay but it could elude to a fantastical fantasy in some futuristic imagination.

second chorus is self explainatory- the warmth of ones own past live moments can mean the difference between a sad and happy death in a nutshell.

Now this stanza:
Watching eyes of celluloid
Tell you how to live
Metaphoric motor-replay
Give, give, give
Laughter kissing love is showing me the way
Spiral city architect
I build, you pay

This stanza says allot. Lyrically and in my opinion quite poetically. Imagine if the universe itself was the architect and you worked for it building upon what you know and do, whatever it may be, well the architect technically "pays" you for your efforts while you eventually see the give take nature of reality itself. The laughing kissing loving crap is just added in for sentiment but the idea itself stands.

Overall sure I may of gone overboard on my interpretation but it's a specific answer I'm trying to elaborate on that's the hardest to define from an abstract standpoint.
