| The intent is clear. The lyrics are focused on an attempt by the narrator to convert a platonic male and female relationship to a sexual one. The narrator is consumed with passion as he implores the woman in question to submit. Back in the 1970's when the song was written, this kind of behavior from men was deemed a lot more socially acceptable. These days it's looked at as borderline sexual assault. Nonetheless it's still a great song. It's very poetic, gripping, and moving. . | |
