@[thuhreb:26962] bus driver all in red might refer to holding up the bus driver with a gun and teling him to keep driving to mexico. the bus driver might be a little red in the face during that time. could mean something else, but that's my take. park it on a cliff where that good grass grows might be referring to marijuana, that good grass. he then talks about the chopper coming along one sunny day to burn his crops and lock him away. he was growing marijuana, maybe an opiate or something, and now the feds here to take him away. it's a very fatalistic song, everything seems to be going wrong for him and he feels for his mother but wishes his, likely drunk and abusive, father would take his place in the chair -- blaming his father for his upbringing and consequent path of choices. i'm kind of surprised there isn't more comments here, especially this many years later, but ey. |
