Animal Collective – Fireworks Lyrics 7 years ago
They lyric everyone doesn't understand isn't "hot turkish"

The lyric is actually "In dominion of the hard Charybdis" (pronounced sherbdis).

This comes from the phrase "between a rock and a hard place", Originally 'between Scylla and Charybdis'. It comes from Homer's odyssey. The sea monster Charybdis was believed to live under a small rock on one side of a narrow channel. Opposite her was Scylla, another sea monster, that lived inside a much larger rock. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Between_Scylla_and_Charybdis

Hard Charybdis, rock and a hard place. Doesn't that make a lot more sense?
