So, I have lived away from home for a while now so every now and then when i listen to this song its very nostalgic. The central idea of this song is home, where your family is, who provide you with unconditional love. They will accept you, forgive you and support you whenever and wherever you are in your life. The first verse outlines what a mother would typically say. Good luck on what you are doing and do what you love and wherever you go, you will always have a place here at home so dont forget that. This also politely masks that for a mother, she always wants her children to visit her so it outlines you can come whenver you want no matter where you go. The second verse outlines what a father would typically say. "Usually" dad's are there to impart us with some life lessons about struggles (at least i go to my dad for these insights). So here he says, dont worry when things gets bad or you are down. This is an important thing in life. He might also be implying "to enjoy high points in life, you will need a low point to compare with" but this is my addition to it. But anyways, in these moments dont feel alone, we are here for you so you can always come home where we will support you. |
