IMHO, this song is about someone who chose to give up an addiction rather than die from it. Addictions so often so consume someone that they lose everything - job, House, friends, family - and they can’t point the blame - they made the choice. “But I’m the one who could save myself” - only the addict can change him/herself. Change or die. It’s that simple. |
