I think what this songs represent how he regrets things in the past, but he realized that he couldn't do anything to change it. "There's a memory of how we used to be That I can see through the flames" Symbolizes how he wanted to burn those memories when they were together. "I am hypnotized as I fantasize Forgetting lies and pain" Means he is still fantasizing all those good memories without remembering the bad ones. "But I can't go back" He is stating that he couldn't do anything to change those memories, either the good or the bad. "The ashes call my name" This makes sense after he burnt the memories to ashes. He felt those memories still wanting to be a part of him. "Pouring the fuel, fanning the flames" He is preparing mentally to let those memories go away (In other words, burning them). "Breaking the habit and melting the chains" He wanted to break the cycle of remembering his memories. "Embracing the fear, chasing the fight" He's fighting with his inner demon, which he's scared of for a long time, until now. "The glow of the fire will light up the night" He's in sorrow, darken by the memories. And he thinks burning those memories will lighten himself once again. "The bridges are burning, the heat's on my face" He feels a little discomfort about burning his memories and relationship. "Making the past an unreachable place" Now that he burnt those memories and his relationship, he knows that he can't undo what he had done. "Pouring the fuel, fanning the flames I know, this is the point of no return" He knows, after burning the memories he can't undo what he had done. "It's uncontrollable Such a beautiful desire" He couldn't control the fantasy of his beautiful memories. "There's something sinister about the way it hurts When I watch it burn" He felt an odd feelings when he sees those memories while letting it go. The odd feelings is something we could all relate, the feeling when you want to let something go but deep inside you don't want to. "Because I can't go back" The odd feelings he got probably came from the realization that he can't do anything after his action. "I won't turn around" He's planting a mindset of won't seeing the memories and relationships he burnt. |
