| Is this about reincarnation? "We're dying /For our souls to learn", this seems to me that he is saying that we are dying to gain experience for our souls and we use that knowledge in the next life? But what does the "We're dying /For our souls to burn" supposed to mean? Maybe some souls get another chance and others cease to exist because they were evil or they are very old? | |

The song is clearly about atheism. I can't explain each line, but here it is: In the first verse he says that there is no fate given by a god, he lives his life as he wants it. In the second verse he ask you to take a closer look at religion. He say that the church lies to you, makes you think that you will go to a better place when you die. After all those lies you think you are illuminated but you only lie to yourself because there is no life after death. In the third verse he basically says that there is no God. In the fourth verse he says that religion is the root of evil. By "impotent redeemer" he means Jesus. He blames him because although he was supposed to save us, after his death everything got only worse, because in the name of God people robed and murdered on almost every continent. In the final verse he states that man made God and man can destroy him too and asks us to make it happen so we all live in peace. |
