Petula Clark – Don't Sleep In The Subway Lyrics 7 years ago
@[sally11265:26183] I agree, for many years I thought the same thing until I read the Lyrics. However, I think it is a marvelous song about how Relationships go through their ups and downs and Sally Olwen Clark (Real Name Verses Petula Stage Name) was actually in love Joe "Mr Piano" Henderson in 1947 where Joe helped form Petula's Songs on Petula's Record Label alomng with Petula's Father and Joe owning the Label.

However, by 1962 Petula was such a big hit Joe no longer wanted to be the shadows and Joe wrote, played and sang his own going away song ballad to Petula, "There's Nothing More To Say", for Clark's LP In Other Words. Perhaps some of the Conflicts added those Discombobulating Lyrics that it Relationships and and Ego's must always be a Compromise especially among Talented Writers and Entertainers. The Key Lyrics are "You Walk Out On Me When We All Disagree", Goodbye Means Nothing When It All For Show and so Why Pretend You Have Some Other Place To Go?"

It Reflects on that all relationships need Compromise and we must overcome our Overrated Problems, but as Time Goes On both either do it or One Leaves just like the Words in the Song, By The Time I Get To Phoenix. If Compromise can't happen sooner or later the Break Up Happens and hard to return just like as Petula moved on and married someone else since Joe wanted to go it alone on his own, and not in Petula's Shadows. Would make a great movie!

Lorrie Morgan – Something in Red Lyrics 7 years ago
It is about Loving someone from High School or College and the Red (Color of Passion) Dress was the Seduction to seek her Beau, the Green (Color of Jealousy) Dress to keep her Beau's attention, then looking for something in White (Purity) Wedding Dress for Marriage then comes along needing a Blue (Male Boy Son) Dress to give Birth........but as time goes by like all relationships work, familiarity, and family takes over from the passion, jealousy, purity, and of now taking care of her son and her Beau has become her Best Friend more than remaining a Lover that the Red Dress signifies as the Passion they once adored and is no more? Now she is trying to fid and climb back to high passionate feeling again and is Looking for Something in Red again in hopes of reigniting it or finding it with another in Bed.

Some Lorrie Morgan is actually saying later in the song and at the End of the Song Last Words saying I Am Looking For Something In BED! Now that her Beau to Husband to Best Friend can no longer provide it nor her for him. One has to listen real hard to hear it is BED near the End, no longer RED!

My view anyway others can comment as they wish!

Art Garfunkel – Second Avenue Lyrics 7 years ago
@[maderemark:26180] Tim Moore wrote it and sang it but Art Garfunkel had the more popular version and sold in stores, but the Song Writer always get the Royalties when it played and the Copyright Revenues.

There is a Second Interpretation of not "I AM YOU", but "I.M.U" meaning "I MISS YOU" and since it is written on Frosty Window Pane in Dead of Winter like many Painful Memories over time, such Pains of knowing you have to get over being Alone and time, travel and new relationships will melt away those memories just like frost on a window pain when sun, warmth, and another comes out and one is no longer lonely or is missing the person or love once they had and good memories replace the sad until one move along.

Tim Moore – Second Avenue Lyrics 7 years ago
Tim Moore from Philadelphia wrote and sang the song, but Art Garfunkel sang at the same time and it took over the charts over Tim Moore Talent but the Song writers always gets the Royalties.

There is another Interpretation of "I AM YOU" that written on the Froze Window Pane and that is "IMU" meaning "I MISS YOU" and the other meaning is like all things that grow cold and icy they melt away over time into sad memories until replace by remembering only the best ones of any relationship and then you forget the pain as time and other loves wears them out, melts them away and forgets that he once felt lost and alone but no longer lonely. I am alone but not lonely later as painful memories fade away too.
