This song is about the use of drugs and sex..and of course a hangover. If you've ever used drugs and had sex at the same time you'll understand. when you use drugs generally you say do you feel like I do waiting for the high to kick in. At the end of the song he absolutely says "I wanna fuck you"... then the rest of the song.. Do you feel like we do? That's alright, that's alright to feel you'd like Feel you'd like, a good time We'll go to BED and good night Good night, good night, good night, good night, good night |

I believe the writer's intent is about an individual coming down off a heroin hallucination about to commit suicide by jumping off of a building. A friend is there witnessing or their conscience or a spirit angel trying to talk them down. They're over the ground about to jump which will take them 6 feet underground. Their head full of drought is when they Splat ( listen closely to the music in the song you can hear a Splat glass breaking )on the ground and the blood drains out of their head or the lack of heroin to give them the high in their head. And me you're better than I want to be is the drug inside their body making them feel Invincible wonderful and their escape from reality. There's also I believe a reference to astral projection that can be done when on hallucinogenic drugs like heroin. Over ground watch this space I'm open (the experience of flying). Don't think I'm talking we're friends is the connection to the Consciousness or a friend that's trying to talk them down. They feel their life is fake when they are not under the influence of heroin. They'll take whatever they're given but it's not enough cuz they want to live in that constant state of euphoria under heroin. They know they're going to fall from grace when they come down from the high. So they would rather take their life and die then live in reality without the high of the drug. The rest should be fairly obvious |

This song is filled with metaphors, symbolism, multi-layered, ripe for interpretation. The writer may or may not have fully understood at the time they were writing this the complexity or the multi faceted interpretation possibilities. The Genius of this multi-layered poetic writing will prompt many interpretations. As I have read through the comments, the song has many meanings based on the individual's Perspective and Life Experiences. That is the true beauty of art, we get to experience it in a way that we see and understand / interpret it. The song absolutely has references to drugs, sex, relationships, deity, death suicide and on and on. It's up to the listener to decide what they want to think, feel and hear from it. While the writer may have had one purpose or intent in mind it cannot be helped but there are many different meanings that one can take away from the song |
