@[longhairedcountryboy:26420] while I agree that this is the best song on the album, I would also argue that it is one of Mudvayne's best songs ever. Also, after a few listens, I can see why this album is Self-Titled. It displays all of Mudvayne's intricacies in stride; the radio friendly material is good, and the rest is a mindfuck.

"Out to Pasture" is a jaw-dropper, for me! Never heard a song like it.

@[rabidrandy:26289] spot on. This song is so "The End of All Things to Come"-esque, which was heavy in conceptual art. I mean, look at "A Key to Nothing." That song has the depth of Pisces embedded in it. The key to moving on from egoism. The key to rebirth. "Murder is in the hands of motion" or negating the ego with a motion of intent, a turn of the key...to Nothing. To the true self without personal disagreements and the ego's neediness. Hence, "EMPTY." the opposite of spirit which Dawn's an overflowing cup always.

I wonder if this is about their record label.

In my opinion, this song is about depopulation and people living ignorant selfish lives. Thus they "cannot receive the obvious" truth...that most humans are cattle to the elite. Chad seems to harp on this comparison as well in the song, "Out to Pasture." Sad and scary because it is true.
