Superior – Polaroid Millenium Lyrics 7 years ago
I'm with Getmilesaway: this is killer song. This is one of my melancholy go-to's and I love it so much.

My take is she is looking through photo albums of past times. She is walking through her own memories of what was and could have been: of past loves, happier times, breakups and loss. Essentially she is looking at these memories and she is pining to return, but she knows what happens after these pictures were taken.

She chooses to stop looking because she knows the reality of these losses is either too painful, or she feels it's somehow her fault for them. The snapshot of happiness isn't the whole story.

The 'is there time to turn the screw' seems to me that she is asking herself if she can learn from the mistakes of her past.

She is also caught in the realization that she can never go back to that place ('these four walls', and 'surviving destiny' comments) again.

I also think it says 'scared to learn' not 'scared to love'. But I am not certain of that. It would fit better if it does say that. (At least my interpretation. :P )

In the end, it is a lovely and wonderfully done song...
