I believe this song refers to a man who felt disposable at the end of a long relationship. The description fits with the average "good guy" who failed at preventing that his relationship turned cold as years past by. One day he woke up and realized it was over, even though he was a good man to his companion. The underlying thought is that maybe, just maybe, had he been an asshole but still a passionate lover, his companion would have looked at everything he could become one day, instead of looking at everything that he wasn't on present. |
