Katy Perry – Circle the Drain Lyrics 5 years ago
Pretty obvious what it's about. I love the track. Katy is a guilty pleasure for me. I don't listen to much music like this at all, like at all. LOL But I like Katy and I think she stands out from the other pop stars, IMO. Anyway, I love this track because it shows a darker, more serious side to her song-writing and shows she's not just some bubblegum pop star. She has a great voice and the music is perfect for the lyrics. Still poppy enough to sing along to, but has enough of an edge to make it stand out. Good stuff!

Nirvana – You Know You're Right Lyrics 6 years ago
I agree that this is open to interpretation, as are most of Kurt's lyrics. Personally, I find it very haunting in how it relates to his death. It's hard to put into words how much my heart hurts for him and what he felt. I suffer and have for quite some time from depression and I think that's why it hits so hard for me. His vocal style lends so much emotion to the painful lyrics and really drives it home. "Never say a word again / I will crawl away for good" I get chills hearing him sing that with the slow, and methodical guitar chords playing along. Knowing how much pain he was in and how much he was suffering inside is really almost too much to comprehend. I can't say for a fact that this song was about his death, but it sure feels that way to me. My friends and I were lucky enough to be in our teens when Nirvana changed the game. And even though we already skated and listened to punk rock/alternative music, Nirvana still kicked our asses and sounded completely new and different. Some of the best moments of my childhood involve music and friends. Nirvana is a link in that chain for me. Sad is simply not an accurate description of how we felt when we lost Kurt. When I think of how much more music he had in him and how many more people could have been exposed to what Nirvana were, it's just tragic. He was so, so young. Nirvana's music and Kurt's lyrics will always have a spot in my heart.
